With the news that Elon Musk will not be testifying during Amber Heard's court battle, further details of the entrepreneur's relationship with the actress are unlikely to be heard by jurors.

Heard, 36, has been sued for $50 million by her ex-husband Johnny Depp, 58, who has accused her of defaming him in an op-ed published by The Washington Post in 2018, in which she said she was a victim of domestic abuse.

While Heard didn't name Depp in the article, his lawyers have argued that it was obvious she was referring to the actor. Heard has countersued for $100 million for nuisance, with her attorneys arguing that the op-ed was a matter of public interest.

As Musk, 50, had briefly dated Heard following her 2016 split from Depp, he had been expected to testify after it was announced that he was on the witness list.

And while jurors and court attendees have been denied a front row seat to any revelations by the Tesla and SpaceX CEO, Newsweek has taken a look at comments the billionaire has made about his ex in the past.

In April 2017, Heard and Musk were photographed stepping out together as a couple for the first time as they visited the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary on Australia's Gold Coast. Per People, Heard made things Instagram official that day.

Their relationship goes back a decade, when they met on the set of 2013 movie Machete Kills, in which Heard played "Miss San Antonio" Blanca Vasquez, while Musk made a cameo as himself.

Musk, whose divorce from actress Talulah Riley was finalized in 2016, was drawn to Heard's "edginess," People reported during the early stages of their romance.
